Who else do we need if we have Nichole? She's got that lulling, melodic voice, songwriting that cuts to your heart with a quick understanding of an intelligent faith and a musical style that takes advantage of all available pop utilities. So I guess we just need more of her. Now we have it, and it's about time. Filled with 17 songs, Recollection is a best-of CD. And two of the songs are new tunes. Delicate and slightly melancholy, "Sunrise" paints a picture of God as the sunrise we see as we climb out of our valleys. The other new one, "Finally Free" is the cry for the Women of Faith Conferences 2007. But more than a hear-me-roar kind of song, it sings of God's redemptive story as it comes in contact with individual lives. The simple but tear rending line, "If the Son has set us free, then we must be free indeed" is a moment on the CD that listeners will keep with them. Recollection is a fine addition to the Nordeman oeuvre.
